Radiocom’s Successful Deployment of ENENSYS Technologies Seamless IP Switches and QoS & SFN Monitoring Equipment
Rennes – June 30th, 2020 – ENENSYS Technologies, leading provider of media delivery solutions, is pleased to announce the successful deployment of a two-part project for Radiocom which has increased IP distribution robustness and implemented Quality of Service (QoS) and Single Frequency Network (SFN) Monitoring equipment.
Radiocom has updated their network with ENENSYS’ SmartGate T2 (DVB-T2 Gateway) & IPGuardV2 (Seamless IP Switch), ensuring automatic & seamless switching – resulting in increased reliability for their content distribution. SmartGate T2, ENENSYS’ DVB-T2 Gateway module which encapsulates one or several MPEG-2 Transport Streams into a DVB-T2 multiplex, inserts synchronization data for SFN broadcasting. In addition, it allocates data into different physical layer pipes (PLP) and generates T2-MI packets over ASI and IP. IPGuardV2 is ENENSYS’ unique and secure solution which enables automatic IP switching with a hardware bypass mechanism. Designed for IP architectures, it can be used to switch between main & backup IP sources based on a set of configurable criteria in order to provide reliable IP transport and error-free streams.
As QoS is of upmost importance, Radiocom has also chosen to implement a thorough quality monitoring system to ensure continued viewer satisfaction. TestTree, ENENSYS’ test & monitoring brand, provided Radiocom with EdgeProbe Advanced and EdgeProbe RF devices – complete, high-quality and easy-to-use monitoring equipment. Radiocom’s new set-up guarantees monitoring of the entire DVB-T2 broadcast network: with SFN monitoring both on transmission sites and in reception areas, Radiocom is able to detect broadcast issues before viewers even notice. Thanks to an initial set-up of only 15-minutes, EdgeProbe deployment is intuitive and straightforward for operators.
