ENENSYS and TestTree solutions selected to enhance Rai Way new IP transport infrastructure of video/audio signals

ENENSYS Technologies, leading provider of media delivery solutions, is pleased to announce that, at the outcome of the related public tender, Rai Way, leading Italian network infrastructure and services operator, has selected Lutech Spa and its partner ENENSYS Technologies for the rollout of their new IP video and audio contribution and distribution network.

ENENSYS solution portfolio has been exploited at its best for this project, including TestTree StreamProbe, IP and OTT monitoring probe for monitoring compressed and uncompressed content, Seamless IP switch, IPGuardV2 and dense TS over IP Gateway, GigaCasterII.

Rai Way aims at implementing a completely new network infrastructure geographically distributed among different sites in Italy that constitutes a single logical “IP Matrix”, dedicated to the transport of IP video/audio signals, with/without compression.

The IP matrix is intended for the transport of video/audio signals without compression from the delivery points, towards the Rai Way Head End encoding and multiplexing platforms and towards the monitoring equipment (multiviewers, monitors, instrumentation, probes). The TSoIP compressed video/audio output signals of the Head End platforms shall be transported in IP towards the delivery points of Rai Way terrestrial/satellite distribution networks (in IP and ASI format) as well as towards the monitoring equipment.

The delivery points of the signals from the IP Matrix to the Head Ends and Distribution Networks will be be suitably protected by means of exchange equipment between the main/backup/emergency signals to be supplied. The Quality of Service and Experience of all this compressed and uncompressed audio/video content will be supervised by a 24/7 unified monitoring solution.
