Emergency Warning System on DTT platform

The EWSCaster is ENENSYS’ solution to replace all normal TV services in a DVB-T2 multiplex with an Emergency Warning TV service. EWSCaster is a trigger inserter, it can manage emergency alerts on a regional basis to inform terrestrial TV viewers of inmediate dangers.  The ENENSYS solution for Emergency Warning uses standard TV receivers that do not need to be modified in any way or require any special software.

Highlights

EWS trigger Generation

The EWSCaster is the EWS trigger inserter within the ENENSYS solution, it can generate up to 8 triggers simultaneously. Signalling is sent continuously, with a regular hearbeat, to allow monitoring.

EWS trigger delivery

The EWSCaster delivers all the signalling and triggers to the T2Edge or TxEdge. Upon a trigger reception, the T2 or TxEdge will perform the replacement of the TV service by the Emergency Warning TV service.

Regional EWS

The EWSCaster can generate up to 8 different triggers simultaneously; each trigger may reference up to 80 regions and 255 sub-regions. The T2Edge or TxEdge devices are addressable so that an alert can be signalled to one region (group of transmitters) for a tsunami whilst a second region can provide a different
alert for flooding, for example.
