DVB-T2 Gateway (T2-base or T2-lite)

T2Gateway for HDc is ENENSYS’ DVB-T2 Gateway module (T2-base or T2-lite) that encapsulates one or several MPEG-2 Transport Streams into a DVB-T2 multiplex, inserts synchronization data for single frequency network broadcasting, allocates data into different physical layer pipes (PLP) and generates T2-MI packets over ASI and IP.

Since 2009, the world's first DVB-T2 Gateway has been deployed in all the continents to enable the roll-out of DVB-T2 services in single PLP and multiple PLP. All the major transmitter manufacturers have bought the ENENSYS T2Gateway to guarantee the interoperability in the network.

DVB-T2 Gateway with true Multiple PLP support

The T2Gateway for HDc supports the encapsulation of MPEG-2 Transport Streams into up to 8 PLPs. As of today, the T2Gateway has been deployed in several multiple-PLP DVB-T2 services to enable regionalization but also fixed and mobile services in the same T2 signal.

SFN Management

The T2Gateway for HDc enables SFN broadcasting over DVB-T2 throughout several reference clock mechanisms. It provides in-band (T2-MI) relative or absolute timestamp information to all modulators to generate the same data at the very same time over the same frequency. The T2Gateway can deliver the timing information out-of-band (T2-MIP) to enable content rebroadcasting with ENENSYS DTTCaster at the retransmitter sites to broadcast over SFN.

High density solution

The T2Gateway runs in the ENENSYS HDc chassis that can embed up to 6x T2Gateway modules in 1U: the same chassis can output up to 6 T2-MI streams over ASI or IP. The T2Gateway can be embedded in the same 1U chassis with other modules such as the InverTS, the ASIIPGuard or the IPGuardV2.

1+1 and N+1 seamless redundancy

ENENSYS' patented technology, T2Guard, is the unique 1+1 or N+1 automatic redundancy mechanism that prevents from any countrywide TV black-out during switch-over operation. Combined with the ENENSYS seamless switch ASIIPGuard or IPGuardV2, the T2Gateway offers a unique seamless SFN or MFN switch-over.
