TeamCast Tyger’s First Step in the Beam Hopping Upgrade

Rennes – July 22, 2020 – ENENSYS Technologies is proud to announce a new feature for its well-known and highly-regarded wideband satellite modulator, TeamCast Tyger.

TeamCast Tyger, 480 Mbaud / 500 MHz – 2.3 Gbits/s, dedicated to HTS applications is now compliant with DVB-S2X Standard Annexe I.2.

This new feature affects VL-SNR enabled receivers which need to be capable of receiving both VL-SNR frames and standard S2X frames. To ensure seamless mixing between these frames within the same carrier, the Dummy Synchro Frame (DSF) – based on the Annex-E format 6 header – is placed before each group of VL-SNR frames. In addition, this product evolution will allow Satellite Service Providers to introduce VL-SNR services on an existing carrier without affecting the performance of existing receptors. VL-SNR compatible receivers will be able to demodulate all information including VL-SNR frames containing critical information (NCR, signaling, etc.), without frames loss.

With this first upgrade, ENENSYS is paving the way of Satellite Beam Hopping for TeamCast Tyger!
