Iowa PBS selects ENENSYS to upgrade their centralcast ATSC system

Iowa PBS selects ENENSYS’ solutions for a complete upgrade to its centralcast ATSC encoding system. Our partner Comark Digital Services (CDS) took care of the entire project to enable Iowa PBS to upgrade their 9 DTV transmitters.
The contract included upgrading Iowa PBS’s legacy ATSC program encoders for their hub and spoke architecture in addition to a full QoS/QoE monitoring solution. The software-based encoding solution supports ATSC 1.0 now and ATSC 3.0 (NextGen TV) when they are ready to go live. CDS was responsible for program management and for supplying all the materials for the entire project, as well as the factory integration testing, on-site commissioning, and system training.
The deployment includes:
- TestTree EdgeProbe Advanced 3 for local test and remote monitoring of IP inputs and RF outputs to the transmitters.
- TestTree StreamProbe for confidence monitoring with at-a-glance monitoring (live thumbnail mosaic).
- TestTree GlobalViewer for centralized management including live supervision and analytics reporting.
- MediaCast ATSC for live HEVC-DASH and NRT streams processing with ROUTE/MMTP signaling tables generation.
- SmartGate ATSC for STLTP generation which feeds the ATSC 3.0 transmitters.
