Hispasat selects ENENSYS to monitor WAVE OTT PLUS video distribution platform

Rennes – April 13th, 2023 – ENENSYS Technologies, leading provider of Video Quality monitoring solutions through its brand TestTree, is pleased to announce that Hispasat, leading satellite communications operator in Spanish and Portuguese, selected TestTree StreamProbe OTT and TestTree EdgeProbe Advanced Satellite to supervise WAVE OTT PLUS, its white-label platform for video service distribution.

Hispasat is the leading satellite communications operator in Spanish and Portuguese. With a satellite fleet that covers the Americas, Europe, and North Africa, it has successfully deployed high-quality DTH solutions for the major TV platforms.

To strengthen its leadership position in a constantly evolving market, the company launched since 2022, Hispasat Wave OTT, an as-a-service video distribution platform which provides a new set of managed wholesale services. The platform enables pay TV operators, Internet service providers and regional content companies to extend their offer with a new OTT service of multiscreen entertainment, and reach new audience, without the need of a separate infrastructure. Using Hispasat’s white-label OTT video distribution platform reduces their roll-out costs and time-to-market. The offer includes more than 50 international linear channels, local channels, series, movies, etc. In addition, operators, broadcasters and TV channels are able to offer these OTT streaming services to their customers through applications customized with their own branding and available on different devices.

Hispasat provides the video processing infrastructure at its teleport in Lurin (Peru), including the receipt of linear content (TV channels) and on-demand content, as well as its coding and publication. The platform combines satellite capacity with signal processing and uplink services to deliver highly efficient distribution through cloud streaming.

In the context of this project, Quality of Service and Quality of Experience is key to drive consumer engagement and address new audiences.

Hispasat, as a white label distribution platform provider, must be able to guarantee service up-time, anticipate possible issues, reduce technical support time, and prove through clear and detailed reports the accomplishment of its SLA engagements.

To do so, Hispasat selected ENENSYS Technologies, major provider of 24/7 Video QoS & QoE Monitoring solutions through its brand TestTree, for the supervision of all the platform’s services and streams. The monitoring solution consists of 2 EdgeProbe Advanced DVB-S2 to monitor the satellite downlink services and a StreamProbe OTT with a 2 GB capacity which monitors the packager output.
