ENENSYS proposes a unique solution on the market to meet the demand expressed by Broadcaster’s to upgrade, renew and re-use their existing transmitters. This solution consists of several ready-to-use rack digital modulators, featuring specific features dedicated to drive TV transmitters.

These modulators have been especially designed to ease integration into existing transmitter and to improve significantly its performances. The main functions are the digital modulation, the adaptive precorrection, the power measurement and the Automatic Gain Control (AGC).

Increased Performance and Efficiency

TWISTER or VORTEX integrates the latest technological breakthroughs in terms of signal processing including ENENSYS latest adaptive precorrection algorithms (GAP®). It brings a significant gain in the output RF signal performance, both in terms of factor of merit (MER) and intermodulation products (Shoulders). By adjusting the operating point of the amplifiers, it is possible to turn the MER gain into an efficiency gain.

Operational Maintenance made simpler

"Usually the periodic maintenance of Digital Terrestrial TV transmitters leads to significant operational costs. With the adaptive pre-correction, transmitter adjustment is made simple and fast. The embedded MER and Shoulder measurements make the use of external instruments unnecessary. The availability of the whole set of TWISTER’s functions through the SNMP interface makes the remote control and monitoring of the transmitter simple
and effective."

Enriched Control and Monitoring

One unique and differentiating feature of this solution is the integration of a set of functions specially developed for the control and monitoring of the transmitter. The modulator is able to drive the transmitter start and stop cycle from a single command. Embedded monitoring functions provide real-time measurements of key operation parameters such as forward and backward RF power levels, MER and intermodulation (Shoulders). A specific protection mechanism for the case of a high reflected power alarm can be set up, to ensure that the whole transmitter operation remains safe and protected.
