Multiple DTT network optimisation and monetisation technologies at IBC 2017

IBC 2017, Amsterdam, stand no 2.B30 – 7th September 2017: ENENSYS, designers and manufacturers of digital TV transmission technologies, is today announcing key product upgrades and IBC show debuts across its DTT network optimisation and monetisation product portfolio.

At IBC 2017, ENENSYS is launching V2 of its well-known OneBeam solution. This single illumination technology allows a standard satellite DTH network to also distribute services to DVB DTT networks, providing significant OPEX savings by allowing use of the same signal for both DTH and DTT. V2 now simultaneously supports DVB-T and DVB-T2 networks. It also facilitates the creation of a terrestrial mux from multiple, rather than single, satellites, providing operators with increased flexibility. The solution has also been enhanced to support the CA descrambling of encrypted TS content using the ENENSYS product TSDescrambler.

Also on show is DTTCaster. This innovative technology allows highly cost-effective retransmission of DTT networks at regional/local transmitter sites where IP (microwave, fibre and so on) or satellite connectivity isn’t possible or is too expensive. Supporting DVB-T/T2 and ISDB-T, it allows the reception of network content using a simple terrestrial antenna then regenerates that content on another frequency, supporting the rebroadcasting in SFN and multiple PLP mode for DVB-T2.

ENENSYS will also be highlighting the recent launch of Campaign Manager for AdsEdge. AdsEdge is an elegantly packaged server and splicer allowing targeted local content insertion in DTT and cable networks – typically ads, news, weather. Campaign Manager is a central server application that interfaces with the automation system (receiving playlists), with the content and advertising providers (ad agencies), and with AdsEgde to ensure that the right content is received correctly and is supplied to the splicer in the correct timeframe.

Richard Lhermitte, VP Sales and Marketing with ENENSYS, said, “We are always striving to provide customers with technologically elegant solutions that allow DTT networks to be optimised and to allow additional monetisation. These latest product developments highlight our commitment to the market.”
