GigaCaster DMBETI over IP gateway |
|
GigaCaster DMB is the ideal IP gateway for distributing DAB, DAB+, DMB and even T-DMB multiplexes over IP networks.
GigaCaster DMB can process up to 4x ETI streams simultaneously:
- ETI encapsulation to IP (ETI to IP)
- ETI dis-encapsulation from IP (IP to ETI)
- ETI Monitoring statistics and stream information
GigaCaster DMB makes it possible to:
- Optimize bandwidth usage:
- Encapsulation over IP gets rid of unnecessary stuffing information. However, when traditional E1/T1 links are used, stuffing information is carried,
- On standard DAB/DMB multiplexes, in some cases, this can lead to 50% bandwidth reduction!
- Lower OPEX by getting rid of expensive 2Mbps E1/T1 links :
- An 8Mbps SDSL IP link and a 2Mbps E1/T1 link nearly cost the same price per year,
- An 8Mbps SDSL IP link can transport up to 8 DAB/DMB multiplexes when an E1/T1 link will only cope with one!
The following ETI "flavors" are supported:
- ETI-NI ; ETI (NI, G703)
- ETI-NA 5592 ; ETI (NA, G704) 5592
- ETI-NA 5376 ; ETI (NA, G704) 5376
