IBC 2008: ENENSYS demonstrates its comprehensive offer for Mobile TV and Digital Terrestrial TV broadcast system focusing on SFN management, IP distribution and Test & Monitoring.

ENENSYS Technologies announced a series of industry-leading products, technologies and solutions to help operators and broadcast companies master their digital content transmission. ENENSYS will demo on its Booth 12P.A21 its SFN solution for efficient and reliable broadcast, its comprehensive DVB-H end-to-end solution to support regional content distribution, the first time an end-to-end DVB-T2 chain with NXP and Pace, as well as the new release of DiviCatch products, adding support for OMA Bcast ESG decoding and analysis, making it now compatible with all ESG standards.

Optimized DVB-H network bandwidth for MobileTV

ENENSYS' portfolio ranges from transcoding solutions and DVB-H IP encapsulation through transmission and IP distribution, to DVB-H RF signal reception and real-time analysis.

ENENSYS extends its comprehensive DVB-H end-to-end solution to support regional content distribution by introducing MobiEdge, the new cost-effective and highly reliable product based on the world's first FPGA processing DVB-H IP encapsulator, MobiMUX. ENENSYS also extends its DVB-H expertise by supported DVB-OSF and OMA BCAST SCP conditional access with main CAS vendors, and demonstrates its solution on latest Mobile TV handsets like Samsung P960, Nokia N96 and LG KB620.

This world-class solution aims at optimizing the delivery of DVB-H regional content with nationwide services, enabling operators to tremendously reduce their annual OPEX.

Efficient SFN broadcast

Based on several patented technologies, ENENSYS' end-to-end SFN solution includes : a high grade MIP inserter offering seamless switchover with SFNguard technology, SFN streams distribution over IP (through the cost-effective FastCaster and GigaCaster product family) and comprehensive SFN Modulators and Exciters (NetMod and LabMod).

The SynFoNizer, ENENSYS' new redundant SFN distribution paths solution, guarantees seamless switch between broadcast and IP network distribution for instance. Finally, ENENSYS' DiviCatch field testers and CastXplorer network probes enable SFN network testing and real-time monitoring.

Evolve to DVB-T2 with ENENSYS

ENENSYS, in partnership with NXP and Pace, will demonstrate for the first time an end-to-end DVB-T2 chain including modulator and demodulator. ENENSYS showcases its FPGA-based modulator natively designed to handle any kind of standard (already available in DVB-T, DVB-H and DTMB) with DVB-T2 modulation.

DVB-T2 is a digital terrestrial transmission system developed by the DVB Project and designed for use in a post-Analogue Switch-Off (ASO) environment. It introduces the latest modulation and coding techniques to enable highly efficient use of valuable terrestrial spectrum for the delivery of audio, video and data services to fixed, portable and mobile devices. The proposed DVB-T2 specification is expected to provide a capacity gain 30 to 50% higher than with DVB-T.

Test & Monitoring

At IBC, ENENSYS will be showing the new release for DiviCatch products. For all pocket analyzers, the new version brings additional validation for Single Frequency Networks.

Version 5.0 for DiviCatch RF-T/H adds support for OMA Bcast ESG decoding, parsing and analysis, making it now compatible with all ESG standards. Additionally, in partnership with Viaccess, an innovative prototype of Smart Card Profile real-time descrambling will be unveiled.

Along with this new DiviCatch release, ENENSYS will be demonstrating the next evolution of Test & Monitoring product line. A prototype of CastXplorer-T/H will be shown: Planned for release in the first half of 2009, this network probe is the ideal tool for monitoring DVB-T and DVB-H networks in real-time as well as performing long-term performance management.
