Constantly innovating in the field of digital TV, with a strong focus and experience on mobile TV, ENENSYS is proud to announce the forthcoming release of its new 100% hardware based DVB-H IP Encapsulator MobiMux.

With early commercial deployment in Italy, and more recently in Viet-Nam, DVB-H proved to be the main standard approved worldwide by many countries for mobile TV reception. DVB-H IP Encapsulator is the Mobile TV Broadcast chain keystone: reliability, interfacing capabilities, bandwidth optimization and real-time monitoring are thus highly required by the broadcasters.

Usual DVB-H IP encapsulators are server based, which means they embed hard-disk for their processing. However, the experience showed that most of the time, hard-disk is one of the main point of failure reason (with power supply). MobiMux does not embed any hard-disk since 100% hardware based.

As the DVB-H chain keystone, interfacing capabilities are thus required: Mobimux is 100% compliant with any handset, H.264 encoders, ESG servers of the market. DVB-Simulcrypt ready, MobiMux can be interfaced with any Conditional Access system.

MobiMUx is full SNMPv2 (get+set+trap) based for smooth integration within supervision system. It is to be noted SNMP is not an option, it is one required feature for such broadcast grade device !

MobiMux is statistical time-slicing compliant: bandwidth optimization is guaranteed and independent from the H.264 encoder. With its internal widely deployed SFN adapter, MobiMux is a compact and highly reliable solution for DVB-H IP encapsulation.

Finally, with an outstanding and user-oriented GUI, MobiMUx enables real-time monitoring of any DVB-H service (number of columns of the ADT, FEC columns, padding etc...), statistical time-slicing impact etc. so that the user could figure out at once if his configuration is correct.

“Enensys already provides high-quality validation, head-end and transmission equipment. Developing broadcast quality devices for IP distribution was thus the next logical step for us and we are very excited to introduce our new MPEG2-TS over IP network adapter. We are now offering solutions for all links in the broadcast chain, propelling us forward into irrefutable players in our domain of activity.” said Nicolas Fannechère, VP Marketing.

Enensys DiviCatch analyzer extends capabilities to ETR290

Enensys Technologies, an innovative company developing high-quality equipment for Digital Television broadcasting, is proud to announce the new generation of their DiviCatch analyzer application. The new 4.0 release now includes ETR290.

DiviCatch is a compact and USB self-powered broadcast recorder and analyzer, that is also capable of decoding services for real-time program monitoring. This in-hand diagnosis tool is already a widely used and acclaimed device among Enensys' customer base of over 200 clients around the world. DiviCatch has been available for months for baseband interfaces (DVB-SPI, DVB-ASI and ETI), and has been recently extended to RF for live stream recording and analysis. DiviCatch RF-C for Digital Cable networks has been available since the autumn, and DiviCatch RF-T/H for DVB-T and DVB-H networks will already be released in a few weeks. Compared to the baseband devices, DiviCatch RF-capable analyzers provide additional real-time RF key indicators to achieve quick and exhaustive diagnosis on the network.
Today, Enensys Technologies has enhanced the companion software shipped with all DiviCatch devices. In addition to MPEG2-TS real-time table parsing and bitrate monitoring, DiviCatch analysis software now integrates ETR290. ETR290 is standardized guidelines issued by the DVB organization for measurements in DVB systems. These guidelines are intended to provide an exhaustive overview of elements that matter for the transmission of a stream. All parameters tested in ETR290 are split over three priorities. First-level priority lists a basic set of parameters which are considered necessary to ensure that the TS can be decoded. Second-level priority lists additional parameters which are recommended for continuous monitoring. And third-level priority lists further optional parameters covering varied interests. DiviCatch application implements parameters of the three priority levels: Full ETR290 and additional DVB-H specific parameters will be available in future releases.
Offering customized or DVB-based thresholds, the DiviCatch raises an alarm each time an element in the stream gets out of set boundaries and the counter of the errored parameter is incremented. The different parameters making up the ETR290 standard can be individually added to a log file for continuous monitoring. The new ETR290 feature smoothly integrates in the DiviCatch user-friendly interface that is so much appreciated by Enensys' customers.
"For our existing customers, Enensys is a trusted partner because they know that DiviCatch is a future-proof solution in an ever-changing industry like broadcast and they have free access to all future releases. For new customers, DiviCatch is a strong and already well-proven analysis compact device that will keep extending its capabilities in the next months at no cost for them", said Nicolas Fannechère, VP Marketing at Enensys.

VisualOn Inc. and ENENSYS Technologies partner to bring the HDTV like quality to DVB-H

By working together to ensure that VisualOn’s DVB-H Mobile TV client solution works flawlessly with ENENSYS DVB-H broadcast system for Mobile TV, the two companies have enabled H.264 broadcast content with AAC+ audio to be playback on client handsets at quality levels that were not viable on mobile devices until now.

"At ENENSYS we felt that the lack of high performance Mobile TV player on the client side had been restricting the growth of the Mobile TV market. We have been searching for a reliable partner to work with on the client side to ensure that the quality of our broadcast would not be compromised by the performance of multimedia player on the mobile handsets", said Nicolas FANNECHERE, VP Marketing at ENENSYS Technologies.

"We had about given up, feeling that the technology available on the client side would not be able to provide the level of quality we were looking for, given the bursty nature of DVB-H received data. But then we found the VisualOn solution and we were very impressed by its ability to playback H.264 content: we finally found our partner, reactive and ready for commitment. So we decided to include VisualOn H264 player in the DVB-H receivers we propose in our DVB-H Lab Kit and DVB-H Trial Kit. That way, our Customers will at last benefit from the complete DVB-H chain, from video encoding to video reception and high quality decoding."

The VisualOn DVB-H Mobile TV solution will parse the IP stream from the DVB-H receiver and decode on-the-fly the audio and video for playback on the mobile device, while the DVB-H transmission architecture is based on ENENSYS products: DVB-H IP Encapsulator, DVB-H SFN Adapter, DVB-H Modulator and RF Amplifier.

Extended footprint at IBC for ENENSYS, exhibiting new products in Hall 3 and on the Mobile Zone... extended Product Line as well!

ENENSYS shows IP to ASI interface, DVB-H 1W mini-Transmitter with IP input, end-to-end DVB-H delivery chain as well as Digital Cable RF professional receiver with USB2 interface.

ENENSYS Technologies, manufacturer of industry leading DVB-H and DTTV equipments, takes advantage from its two exhibition poles at IBC 2006 to introduce new products that smoothly integrate in their Broadcast, “TV on Mobile” and Video over IP product line. Products exhibits will take place on ENENSYS booth (Hall 3, booth # 3.430c) as well as on IBC Mobile Zone (M323/M324).

ENENSYS unveils its MPEG over IP to DVB-ASI interface. IP-eASI makes life easier for primary distribution in “all-IP”, hence for Digital Terrestrial TV and Mobile broadcast. No need any more for expensive networks to have a DTTV or Mobile TV distribution transported from Head-End premises to emitting sites deployed nationwide. Sharing an IP link between main and remote sites is enough to implement an IP distribution scheme with one eASI-IP interface on the Head-End side, and IP-eASI devices on the transmitters' side.

DVB-H 1W mini-Transmitter with IP input accepts MPEG over IP distribution signals and provides a DVB-H compliant broadcast with 1 Watt (30 dBm) output power. Robust, compact, remote controllable, ENENSYS mini-Transmitter is the ideal solution for indoor broadcast.

"We are proud to show that our line-up keeps pace supporting Broadcast Operators and R&D facilities to make full use of their resources, whatever media they need to carry Digital TV on", said Nicolas FANNECHÈRE, VP Marketing at ENENSYS Technologies. "The all IP era opens so many opportunities for broadcasters to lower down their operational costs that part of them started to go IP already. ENENSYS products will accompany them all along the way."

ENENSYS has been developing the most complete range of USB2.0 adapters on the market, interfacing DVB-ASI, DVB-SPI (LVDS, TTL), ETI (G703, G704) with stream player, stream recorder and real-time analyzer softwares. At this year IBC, ENENSYS shows they enlarge the scope of their USB2.0 based products with a Digital Cable front-end input: DiviCatch RF-C is able to receive a cable signal (Annex A, B or C) and perform real-time RF measurements and MPEG TS analysis, capture and MPEG streaming over IP.

"We have the most comprehensive product range in USB2.0 adapters. Should a professional need a stream playing, analyzing, recording, or receiving device coming with software tools, he should turn to ENENSYS." said Nicolas FANNECHÈRE "From baseband DVB-ASI, DVB-SPI, ETI (used for T-DMB Mobile TV applications) to RF interfaces, our DiviSeries are tiny and robust solutions already used worldwide by Operators, Research Centres, Manufacturing premises..."
