GigaCaster is the most reliable, flexible yet cost-effective solution available on the market for transmitting video content over IP
networks. This carrier grade video gateway is designed to fully answer broadcasters' needs: high number of inputs/outputs and high bit rates, network jitter removal, dedicated regulations for MFN and SFN networks, full SNMP support, etc.

GigaCaster gateways offer up to 8 DVB-ASI interfaces (16x ASI interfaces in a full 19" 1RU) and an overall throughput that exceeds 800Mbps.

GigaCaster gateways are able to encapsulate MPEG2-TS streams into IP streams (ASI to IP) and dis-encapsulate MPEG2-TS streams from IP streams (IP to ASI).

GigaCaster is compliant with the Pro MPEG Forum CoP3 (or SMPTE 2022), therefore insuring interoperability with existing network equipments. CoP3 also describes error correction mechanisms which can be used when network transmission is error prone.

GigaCaster's SNMP centric architecture makes it possible to fully configure the ASI over IP video gateway through SNMP: Any setting that can be modified using the rich & interactive user interface or the front panel can also be done through SNMP! Interfacing devices with a NMS (Network Management System) has never been so easy.

In addition, thanks to ENENSYS' expertise in IP distribution and regulation over IP networks, GigaCaster ASI over IP video gateways are able to preserve:

  • MFN (Multi-Frequency Network)
  • SFN (Single Frequency Network)

GigaCaster carrier-grade gateways are 100% hardware based, therefore insuring high MTBF (Mean Time Between Failure).
